NORTHWEST ARKANSAS (KFSM) – New guidelines for high blood pressure were announced at an American Heart Association conference Monday (Nov.13). These changes mean 30 million Americans now have hypertension. Now, a blood pressure of 130/80 is considered high whereas that number used to be 140/90. “This particular group of people who had more than 130/80 but less than 140/90, we used to call prehypertensive.
